Sex Hotel in FuZhou Province, China

Capitalism, or to be more precise, Western Influence has found its way into remote China. I highly doubt one could stumbled upon such an amazing piece of picture hanging on the wall of any hotel in Malaysia, let alone in most hotels in the western world.
Don’t get me wrong, the hotel I stayed is not a sex hotel, in fact, it was suppose to be the most expensive hotel in GuTian district. A simple ‘back to my grandfather’s village’ turned into an eye opening experience. What the f*** are they trying imply?
- They are open minded
- This is a sex hotel
- Finally they are on par with Europeans and Americans
- Free sex education?
- This is a place where teenagers hang out and have sex because they don’t have privacy in their tiny house?
They say in China, money buys love – temporary love.

GuTian City and Ngan Village in China

Time travel is possible; all you need is an air ticket to one of the many villages in China. It is as if time stopped right after the Mao ZeDong and his communist gang took control of China. Last week, I went back to GuTian, China. One of the many districts in FuZhou province.

This is my grandfather’s home village, also known as the ‘Ngan’ village. The weirdest part is, everyone is a ‘Ngan’ in this village.

The Mandarin word highlighted in red reads: “Gender Equality”. Which is rather ironic knowing very well that most Chinese still prefers having a baby boy over a baby girl, which pretty much explains the ratio of 110:100 where baby boys outnumbered baby girls in every 100 birth.

Interior view of the village hall in the ‘Ngan’ village. Sort of like a town hall but on a smaller scale. Build during the Ming Dynasty.

Lots of Communist propaganda.

Tri-bikes like these are everywhere, 2 yuan per ride within the city.

Random image of the GuTian city in GuTian district, with a population of 440,000. Makes me wonder, what is the actual definition of a ‘small city’ in China. Every city appears to be huge.
